We have been awarded our Green Flag for being an eco - friendly school. Well Done and Thankyou to everyone who helped us to achieve it.

In our school we help each other by being part of a team and working together.

Our School Council

Our school council meets once a week on a Monday. It is made up of children from the P3 to P7 classes and each of these classes has 2 representatives.

Mrs Macfarlane and Mrs Patrick help the school council to make their decisions.

Each year the school council decide what their aims will be.

They choose a world - wide issue, a local issue and a school issue. This year the school council have chosen to help endangered animals, help Rachel House and to get more toys for the school field.

Peer Mediation

In our school the Primary 4 and 5 children have the opportunity to train as peer mediators.

Peer mediators help other children to solve any problems that have occurred during playtimes and lunchtimes.

Buddy / Squaddies

Our P6 children have the opportunity to train to become

Buddy / Squaddies.

Buddy / Squaddies help to monitor the younger children at playtimes and lunchtimes. They also help the children learn how to play together and teach them new games to play.

Our Eco - Committee and

In our school we have an Eco - Committee. It is made up of 2 representatives from each of the P3 - P7 Classes. Mrs McTurk,

Mrs Oliver, Mrs Isles, Mrs Galloway, Miss Hunter and Mrs Starkey help the committee make their decisions.

The Eco - Committee help decide how we can make our school

eco - friendly.

The Green Team help with the gardening and litter picking. We also help to make our school look attractive by painting murals and looking after our indoor garden.

The Eco - Committee have carried out a review of our school and school grounds which has helped us decide what action we need to take.

We have decided to concentrate on controlling litter in our grounds and updating the indoor garden aswell as maintaining the projects we have undertaken in previous years. Our big project will be to build and create a walking track through our school grounds.
